Testimonials
Alicia King
While making my weekly calls, one of our peers thanked Ascent for the app and how easy it is to utilize. He was grateful for the weekly call because the mother of his children had just walked out and he was wondering what to do and how he was going to take care of them.
I listened and reassured him everything would work out, suggested the "Stop, Look and Listen" feature on the app, a couple of food bank sites in his area, and explored resources he could utilize.
He mentioned he had to be in Drug Court on Wednesday and I happened to work as a liaison with the Greater Cleveland Drug Court.
I encouraged the peer not to worry, but to go to court on time Wednesday, bring his children if need be, and together "teamwork makes the dream work." It was my honor to advocate for this peer when we met to review the docket letting the judge and staff know of my conversation with the peer resulting from the Ascent app and using his tools to stay sober. The court was sincerely impressed, and encouraged the peer for his actions, assisted him with his children, tested him and received a negative urine result. The judge thanked Ascent for playing a positive part in this young man's recovery.
I am honored to be a team member of the Ascent Solution!
