Upcoming Recovery and Mental Health Events

Places to find Ascent

Last week we wrote about all of the events popping up regarding addiction and mental health in Ohio and throughout the country. In order to expound on that fact and give readers additional insight into some of these events, we are going to outline some of the upcoming events that Ascent will be attending and why they are important. We hope that you can attend some of these events and meet our team in person.

Ohio’s 2016 Opiate Conference – May 2-3 – Hyatt Regency, Columbus, Ohio

Overview:

“The Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities is excited to be partnering with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, to host Ohio’s seventh annual opiate conference titled, Ohio’s 2016 Opiate Conference: Advancing Prevention, Intervention, Treatment, and Recovery. Ohio’s 2016 Opiate Conference will be a two day event, held in Columbus, Ohio on May 2-3, 2016.”

Ascent will have a table at this conference and we are excited to be a part of such an important event. The opiate epidemic has reached a massive scale. It is not only a major problem in Ohio, but all over the nation. So much so that President Obama has finally taken time to address it and the steps that need to be taken by the government to fight it. We look forward to continuing to learn at this conference, as well as teach others about Ascent and its benefits.

This will be a two-day event to be held June 1-2, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. This conference will offer training on topics such as advocacy, empowerment, job skills development and employment readiness; peer supports and services; community involvement; cultural competency; self-care; wellness; and more. There is no charge for this conference, but you must register to attend.”

This conference will also be taking place in Columbus, Ohio and will be held at the same location. This will be the first year of the Recovery Conference and we can’t wait to see what all is in store. Ascent will also likely have a table at this conference and we hope to meet many of you there. This conference is especially relative to Ascent, as it will touch on both addiction and mental health. It will also provide the opportunity for plenty of interaction.
